Welcome to our Learning Space
Why are YOU here?
This is why I'm here.
http://www.sylviasenglishonline.org/
Welcome to all participants in the ELT MOOC.
I'm Sylvia Guinan. I'm an online English teacher , as well as facilitator and presenter for the ELT MOOC.
I'm here for many reasons. Firstly I've been working at the online platform WiziQ for three years.
Secondly, because I met Jason R Levine on facebook two years ago and was fascinated with his work. I had actually been following his you Tube channel for two years before I met him on facebook . The funny thing is that when he came into my group and connected with me I didn't recognise him as Fluency MC – the first thing I said was 'show us something interesting'.
He posted his brilliant stick/stuck/stuck video.
The second thing I said was 'hey, are you that Fluency MC guy'?
We have been collaborating ever since. I always had a feeling that the inspiration and collaboration would lead to something big. Here it is. Fluency MC's ELT MOOC.
I'm proud to be part of this. We are sharing skills to bring you the best. I'm helping with the facilitation and some of this extra organisation on ClubEFL because I want to have a lot of fun in the perfect playground. Can't wait to meet you all!!!!!!
Why are you here?
Hello world! My name is María Alejandra Pinardi, I am an English teacher in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have been teaching kids, teens and adults for 27 years. And I have been learning since then. Teaching and learning non stop, because this is what life is about.
I´m honored to be a facilitator in this learning festival, glad to share, so pleased to see so many people who care! I´d like to share a few words I wrote some time ago:
Life-long learning
learn all your life long
you start to learn
since you were born
to walk, to eat,
to run, to speak.
Remember those days
when you learnt a great deal
you learnt at your own pace
you learnt from your mistakes
And the truth is
you learn as you go
you learn life lessons
you learn all life long.
Get ready, don´t stop
and go on, take action
if you learn with passion
you will really learn a lot.
You learn in a group
you learn on your own
you learn at home, at school
when you teach, and in WizIQ!!!!
Hey everybody! My name is Inés Hamdi and I'm from Denmark/Tunisia. I've only been teaching English for 5 years but have studied it ever since 4th grade. I've already tried my hand at ELT in evening language classes, at university level and summer school for kids. I never knew I wanted to teach – not until that moment when I taught my first class the year I was finishing my MA in English Lit : I was hooked after 5 minutes!!!! I'm currently working on my PhD in English Lit but am in parallel enjoying the challenges of ELT. In Tunisia, teaching at universities will always require a big amount of "undercover" ELT – which is why I decided to do the CELTA this previous summer! I'm here to LEARN from you all – Presenters, Participants and Facilitators. I already know that there's a bunch to learn from all four corners of the world and I'm EXCITED!!
Sylvia,
n.b. You'll see that comments are now working on the Discuss and Share pages http://discussion.clubefl.gr/?p=85#comment-6
Sylvia.
I still see some problems here on ELT-T ClubEFL. If I go from here to eg Drew's Post CLass with the link on the right-hand side, http://elt-techniques.clubefl.gr/?cat=23 there is no comment space and I have to click again on the title and go to another page http://elt-techniques.clubefl.gr/?p=85 to add coments, but can't see any previous comments.
Earlier this evening I went to the same page on the Discuss and Share page and inserted a comment. You can see it here: http://discussion.clubefl.gr/?p=85#comment-6 but it doesn't appear on the page linked to from here, on the right. http://elt-techniques.clubefl.gr/?cat=23
Shouldn't these pages be the same? It's still a bit confusing.
Happy to see that the ELT-T on ClubEFL is now working correctly. Great to be here.
Hi!!! I´m Mariela, from Argentina. I´ve been teaching English since 1999. I am an EFL teacher, Secondary School teacher, private teacher and for just one year now, a business English freelance teacher. I´ve been working with adults from different companies, multinational ones, that need their employees to be trained in English. I also work for a private local English institute, where I deliver classes for all ages students
I´m here for I´m eager to learn this language up to all boudaries. Therefore pass The Key to all my students. I love improving and my goal is to master,( or at least I´m trying to) Enlgish language. Just hearing your facilitators explaining and teaching us fulfill my expectations. You make everything so simple and clear that the way you enrich our teaching techniques is absolutely useful. Learning is a neverending story, in all the stages and ages. All my respect and love for our trainers here!!
Great to be here. I may have added this a few times. I don't see my comment.
Great to be here!!!!!!!!

For achieving my aim I dedicate most of my time supporting, guiding and scaffolding EFL teachers in Yemen. I am here for the purpose of sharing ideas and exchanging experiences.
I am an EFL Supervisor at Taiz Education Office, Yemen, & a Teacher Trainer at The Ministry Of Education & British Council, Yemen. I have been teaching English for 16 years in different public and private institutions.
My job as a Supervisor & Teacher Trainer is to help teachers acquire personal development and reflect their development on their learners for better teaching, better learning and better future.
Believing that learning is a long-life process, I have been participating as a participant and a facilitator in ELT MOOCs; Vocabulary Techniques, Listening and Pronunciation Techniques on WizIQ.
I am Gordana Popovic, an EFL teacher from Serbia. I've been teaching English at a secondary vocational school since 1991. I also used to teach adults at an institute for four years.
I'm here because I believe in lifelong learning and sharing. Here I must say that my participating in the first MOOC ELT-T this summer has changed my life completely. I've learned a lot, got to know a number of extraordinary teachers, made friends with some of them…
I'm thrilled that I can be a part of this one, too. And I'm proud to be one of the facilitators in this amazing global teaching and learning festival.
Cheers!
