An overview of VIRTLANTIS, a free and open language learning community in the virtual worlds of Second Life® and Avination®. In specific, we will discuss how you can practice speaking and pronunciation in this immersive virtual environment with people from various countries and cultural backgrounds. Everyone is welcome!

Pre-class task 

1) Have you ever been in a virtual world online? If so, which one(s)?
2) What is an avatar?
3) Have a look at the following website and write down as many questions as you can think of. We can try to discuss them in tomorrow's class!
